The Capital Expo mainstage is the beating heart of the festival. From the opening ceremony Thursday through the fireworks finale and post-firework set Saturday night, the stage runs nearly nonstop with local bands, regional touring acts, and crowd favorites.
Country, rock, dance, classic hits, originals, covers — the lineup spans genres and generations. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a willingness to dance.

The 2026 lineup is set, but we book each year’s mainstage in the fall and winter before. If you’re a band, solo performer, or regional act and you’d like to play Capital Expo Festival, send us your info.
Include in your email: band/artist name, genre, links to music or video (Spotify, YouTube, Facebook), typical set length, and preferred day/time slot if you have one.
Frequently asked questions.
Yes — all mainstage performances are completely free with festival admission, which is also free. Bring lawn chairs and blankets and stay as long as you want.
The mainstage is in the heart of Lakeview Park, near Hancock Pavilion. Park Avenue & Steadmantown Lane, Frankfort KY 40601.
Yes — lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. Arrive early on Saturday for prime spots near the stage.
You can bring your own non-alcoholic beverages and coolers. Multiple food & beverage vendors operate throughout the festival.
The mainstage continues rain or shine when weather is safe. Updates on the Capital Expo Facebook page for any cancellations.
Fireworks begin at 10:10 PM Saturday June 6, with Bill May All-Stars playing right before and after.
